VRLA technology

VRLA (Valve Regulated Lead Acid) means that the battery cells are valve-regulated, allowing gas produced by overcharging or a cell failure to escape through a safety valve. VRLA batteries have excellent leak protection and can be used in any position. They are completely maintenance-free .

Low self-discharge

By using high-purity lead-calcium grids, Victron VRLA batteries can be stored for extended periods without recharging. The self-discharge rate is less than 2% per month at 20°C. This rate doubles for every 10°C increase in temperature. When stored in a cool place, Victron Energy Gel batteries can be stored for up to a year without recharging .
